Best Looks From The 2022 CMA Awards

Honestly? This year’s CMA Awards fell a little flat for me. I was thrilled Lainey Wilson and Cody Johnson were big winners, but with a few exceptions, I thought the performances were just okay and a lot of the wins predictable. I did love the opening tribute to Loretta Lynn as well as Carly Pearce’s tribute to her, Jo Dee Messina appearing during Cole Swindell’s “Head’s Carolina” performance, and thought Carrie Underwood’s performance was the only heat in the first hour of the show. I think the highlight was Alan Jackson’s tribute and acceptance of the icon award.

And, of course, Peyton Manning’s “Rocky Top” moment!

As for the fashion?

There were some absolute killer looks. Some misses were out there, to be sure, but there was definitely a lot of great fashion on the red carpet.

Here are my best looks form the 2022 CMA Awards.

Lauren Akins

Lauren looked utterly stunning. Thomas Rhett looked just fine himself, but Lauren gave mermaid vibes in the best possible way. He posted on Instagram that she was the “prettiest girl in every room” and I think he was right on the money at the CMA Awards.

Danielle Bradbery

It’s always a risk to wear all white on the red carpet, never mind the whole “after Labor Day” thing, but Danielle Bradbery was a vision in this dress.

Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini is always one of my favorites on the red carpet and in fashion in general. I didn’t love that she opted for the gloves – thought that was a weird flex – but this color on her is stunning. Mackenzie Porter wore the same dress however (sans gloves), so Kelsea quickly changed into a green number. This Balenciaga gown has been making the red carpet rounds – Kim Kardashian wore it to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party earlier this year.

Carrie Underwood

When does Carrie Underwood not bring it on the red carpet? I think I say this every awards show, but this look from her is one of my favorites yet.

Dustin Lynch

Can’t forget the guys! Dustin Lynch knows how to dress and he looked sharp on the red carpet.

Jake Owen & Erica Hartlein

Jake Owen is another sharp dresser, but can we talk about his fiance? Erica Hartlein has the simple but glamorous look on lock. I’ve seen her on a few red carpets now and she manages to stun each time. I thought it was time someone recognized that.

Morgan Evans

Morgan Evans kept it casual yet put together, but you know what? He gets a lot of points for just showing up in the midst of his divorce from Kelsea Ballerini. His new song “Over You” is gut-wrenching and I was proud to see him on the carpet solo last night.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was on hand to present Entertainer of the Year – she’ll be playing Tammy Wynette in the upcoming George & Tammy miniseries – and I thought she looked incredible.

Reba

Last but not least, the queen. Reba. She looked like the classic star she is and I’d like to know her secret – she does not age!

There we have it my – my favorite best looks from the CMA Awards. Who made your best dressed list?
