September - a month of settling in, finding routin September - a month of settling in, finding routines in my new town, writing a TON, researching all things firefighter, reading a few good books, stitching a lot, and of course, lots of Griff snuggles. Read this book. Please please please read this book and then the sequel. I need to talk about it. Lily pads 😍 Back with all my friends. 🧡🏈🍊 First September project - just need the perfect blue (I think?) for the background. Current WIP - first pillow! (I think… might be framed…) Accidentally ordered a full size football lamb instead of a Griff-sized lamb but he’s thrilled. He’s perfect. 😍 Crazy how my resting heart rate has come back down to normal after leaving my full-time job… 👀 Big fan of my new Halloween decor. My library is coming along nicely 😍 Snagged one of the canvases I’ve been hunting down! I didn’t buy this at Target and I’d like applause. He’s a lamby 😭 Coming back as him in my next life. Grabbed this from @canvasqueenneedlepoint - wrote this very phrase in my journal that morning, saw the canvas that afternoon, and had to have it. I had the best writing weekend I’ve had in a long I had the best writing weekend I’ve had in a long time. We were on the outer edge of the nor’easter, so the weekend was cold, rainy, and so windy - perfect for being cozy with my writing, books, needlepoint, and college football. All of these words were on book one of an as of now untitled firefighter romance which started as a standalone but has since become a series. I’ve put down more than 15,000 words on this story in the last two weeks, and I’m closing in on writing “THE END.” My original plan was to edit and query my baseball romance as this year winds down. That’s still on the table, but this firefighter story feels different. I think it might be the one I query… 👀👀 This week, I’m headed back into the POLITICAL GAIN world to do copy edits on POLITICAL DAMAGE. (Release date announcement next week!) and I may even work a little on Luke’s story in that world, if the mood strikes. It feels good to have the time and space to create again. And I may need some beta readers for this firefighter romance very soon… DM me if you’re interested. No promises but… 🤷‍♀️

Why google when you can call up your volunteer firefighter friends and ask if they know people you can talk to? I’m nearly finished with the first draft - I’m so excited about this story. That needs a title because it definitely doesn’t have one right now. 🚒👨‍🚒🔥 I’m also doing @jamiattenberg’s mini fall 1,000 words challenge - 1,000 words a day from September 25 through September 27. I got 1,023 new words down last night. There’s a chance I finish this story this weekend… 👀 Next week is all about finishing up POLITICAL DAMAGE copy edits, so let’s see how much writing I can get done this week.
