Gift Guide for the Book Lover

There is always someone on your holiday shopping list that is hard to buy for. If that person on your list happens to be a book lover, I have you covered. Here is my 2023 Gift Guide for the Book Lover.

Kindle

I love a physical book, but I also love the convenience of my Kindle. It’s easy to drop into my bag for travel or reading on the go and there is a model to meet every budget. The basic Kindle – which is the one I have! – comes in at $99 and is perfect for someone who, like me, prefers a physical book but appreciates the convenience of an e-reader. The Kindle Paperweight is the next step up, followed by the Kindle Paperweight Signature Edition. If you’re looking to gift the ultimate Kindle, the Kindle Oasis fits the bill. It comes with two storage capacity options, the ability to purchase an ad-free experience, page turning buttons and more. There is also the Kindle Scribe which does everything the Kindle Oasis does, but doubles as a digital notebook.

Not sure which Kindle is the best option? Amazon has a great comparison chart to help guide your decision.

Kindle Accessories

Whether they have a Kindle or you’re purchasing one as a gift, you can’t go wrong with Kindle accessories. A Kindle cover or case is almost necessary for protecting the lifespan of the Kindle. Clear cases are especially popular right now as they can be customized with stickers (see below!). I personally love my simple case which comes in four colors. You can search places like Etsy for more unique or personalized cases.

Kindle Unlimited

Give the gift of free (sort of) books! There are so many great books available on Kindle Unlimited and any bookworm will appreciate a subscription. It renews at $11.99/month, and there are also options to pay for a month in full. A few of the Kindles linked above also come with free trials or discounted yearly rates. For someone who reads a number of a books a month, Kindle Unlimited basically pays for itself (girl math).

Stickers

Stickers are all the rage in the book world and there is no shortage as to what’s available out there. Etsy is one of my favorite places to find stickers. You can purchase a bundle such as this pack of 100 book lover-themed stickers or even a genre-themed set like these romantasy stickers. If you know they have a soft spot for a certain book or book series, search Etsy – or the broader internet – for stickers from that book. I love these Boy Wizard stickers from Harry Potter and this Fourth Wing set is excellent. I also really love these Sarah J. Maas City Stickers

Reading Journal

Book lovers like to keep up with the books they read. A book journal could be the perfect gift for someone who loves to document their reads and look back on them later. This book journal is a great option. My personal favorite is My Reading Life by Modern Mrs. Darcey’s Anne Bogel. Anne even has one for kids!

Book Merch

There is no shortage of book merch out there for the book lover. Sign me up for this Fourth Wing Basgiath War College sweatshirt or t-shirt and I would absolutely wear this stunning Velaris sweatshirt representing from the Sarah J. Maas world. This Just One More Chapter sweatshirt is a great choice for that person who has to read just one more chapter and if your book lover is a Taylor Swift fan? You can’t go wrong with this Albums As Books sweatshirt. I also really love this Bookish sweatshirt!

Book Drinkware

Book lovers tend to love their beverages. Whether they are drinking coffee, iced coffee, tea, or water, they would probably love a book-themed mug or tumbler. This Easily Distracted By Books cup is perfect for the iced coffee drinker. I’ve seen this book mug a few places and it would make a great gift. Looking for a tumbler? The Bookish Boutique has a lot of great options.

Books

I’m going to state the obvious gift for the book lover – books! They may have an Amazon wishlist, or perhaps you can do a little sleuthing and find out books they want to read and purchase those. Special editions of favorite books are never a bad idea, and if you really want to make a book lover’s day, give them a book store gift card or set them loose in a bookstore with permission to buy (within your budget!). A fun trend I’ve seen on social media is to give someone a short time limit and say “as many books as you can carry in this time.” Five minutes is the going rate, but I know us book lovers can do some damage if given 5 whole minutes to grab whatever books we want!

I hope this gift guide for book lovers is helpful! What book lover gifts are you purchasing this holiday season?
