TIP TUESDAY: My best tip for how to be a better wr TIP TUESDAY: My best tip for how to be a better writer (besides writing more, of course!)

Leave your thoughts, questions, and ideas for Tip Tuesday in the comments!

With that said, what are you reading right now? I’m reading THE IRRESISTIBLE URGE TO FALL FOR YOUR ENEMY and having a great time!

Yesterday, I announced the release date for my nex Yesterday, I announced the release date for my next book, POLITICAL DAMAGE. Today, I finished the first draft of book one in my firefighter romance series. 🥹 123,500 words exactly, more than half of which have been written in the last 3 months. It needs a heavy edit, and then another, but this will be the first book I take out in search of an agent. And so, I type “THE END” with a quiet hope that things are about to get really, really good. 💕
Lyla and Kage’s story concludes in POLITICAL DAMAG Lyla and Kage’s story concludes in POLITICAL DAMAGE, out November 19th. Have tissues. And maybe a sleeve of Double Stuf Oreos. And remember, romance books are contractually obligated (in a sense) to have a happy ending. 🖤

Preorder the ebook at the link in my bio. The paperback will be available on release day everywhere paperbacks are sold online (I suggest requesting it from your local indie!) Read the full release announcement on my website - link in bio!

(P.S. - “Bad Spot” by Kip Moore is Kage’s soundtrack for this book - give it a listen).

🖤🖤🖤

The danger may be over, but the damage is far from done.

Lyla Adler and Kage Kensington should finally have the chance to build the life they’ve fought so hard for. But the truth has left scars they don’t know how to heal, and the sudden reappearance of a ghost from Kage’s past threatens to unravel everything they’ve come to count on.

With all of his secrets now out in the open, Kage finds himself confronting the demons he’s spent years trying to outrun. Lyla is fighting battles of her own, and neither knows how to save the relationship they’ve sacrificed so much to protect.

Lyla and Kage have survived betrayal, secrets, and unimaginable danger. But with their relationship pushed to the breaking point, they must face a question neither is prepared to answer: Will love be enough this time?

YOUR TURN: What’s the best book you’ve read so far this year?
Let’s talk about how much money I made as a self-p Let’s talk about how much money I made as a self-published author in September, plus the total I’ve made for the year AND roughly how much I’ve invested. Hopefully, someone finds this helpful. I love watching videos like this from other authors, influencers, and entrepreneurs as I find them insightful and inspiring.

I do think there’s a misconception about how much authors make - I know some of my family and friends think I’m rolling in the author dough. 😂 Really, I’m just hustling and working hard in my “day” job to help fund what I hope will one day be my only job. 💕

It suffices to say I ain’t in it for the money, but that I also have the belief that *one day* this will all pay off.
My mom would have been 62 years old today. She was My mom would have been 62 years old today. She was only 55 when she died. I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately, mostly in terms of what she’d think of me, @imloganx, and @yoimlibby and how all of us are living lives so different than what she probably expected of us. She’d probably absolutely hit the roof when she found out we’re skipping out on “home for Christmas” to spend it in Paris, but I also think she’d secretly get a kick out of it.

Happy Birthday, Mama. Tell Papa Clark, Papa Jim, and Grandma Myrtle hello from me. Give Knox a pat and throw his ball a few time, too. And maybe ask Papa Clark for his assessment of the Tennessee quarterback situation. And you know what? Ask Grandma Myrtle about the timing on that whole “marry someone decent and a little bit famous” prophetic word of hers because I’m waiting… ⏰

I’m two chapters away from being done with the first draft of my firefighters and you mayyyyy want to watch this space and your inbox later this week for POLITICAL DAMAGE news. 👀👀👀

(P.S. - that’s Jelly. He likes his mom, @hldobbels and me and also Griff and that’s pretty much it)
September - a month of settling in, finding routin September - a month of settling in, finding routines in my new town, writing a TON, researching all things firefighter, reading a few good books, stitching a lot, and of course, lots of Griff snuggles.

Read this book. Please please please read this book and then the sequel. I need to talk about it.

Lily pads 😍

Back with all my friends. 🧡🏈🍊

First September project - just need the perfect blue (I think?) for the background.

Current WIP - first pillow! (I think… might be framed…)

Accidentally ordered a full size football lamb instead of a Griff-sized lamb but he’s thrilled.

He’s perfect. 😍

Crazy how my resting heart rate has come back down to normal after leaving my full-time job… 👀

Big fan of my new Halloween decor.

My library is coming along nicely 😍

Snagged one of the canvases I’ve been hunting down!

I didn’t buy this at Target and I’d like applause.

He’s a lamby 😭

Coming back as him in my next life.

Grabbed this from @canvasqueenneedlepoint - wrote this very phrase in my journal that morning, saw the canvas that afternoon, and had to have it.

Firefighter romance research 🔥🔥🔥
