Writing away. Editing away. Recently stumbled acro Writing away. Editing away. Recently stumbled across my deleted scenes folder for OFF THE RECORD. Might need to post a few of those soonish. 👀 Nate *is* the perfect book boyfriend after all.

I’ve got plenty of POLITICAL GAIN series bonus material - like chapter one from Kage’s POV 👀 - in the archives, too…

I read this line late last night in beginning of T I read this line late last night in beginning of The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, Bol. 5 by @bethbrower and I’ve been thinking about it ever since.

I’ve seen a lot of loss over the last year. You expect your 97-year-old grandmother to pass, even if she’s your favorite person in the world. What you don’t expect is to see friends lose spouses suddenly, or for the people you grew up with or went to college with to get a devastating diagnosis. You think grandmas live forever, that you have time, and health is always going to be there.

I’ve admittedly been extra reflective lately as I navigate things like heightened anxiety, a crippling fear of releasing my next book, and where I’m headed in life. I’ve also been reminded that nothing is promised.

I’ve had an urge - despite the fears and unknowns - to “ring all the bells” lately. To go for it. To not put off chasing a dream, taking the trip, or most importantly, telling my people I love them. A lot about Emma in this magical series Beth has created inspires me, but perhaps nothing more than this line.

May you, too, be inspired to ring all the bells.

I don’t talk about my second book, STRICTLY BUSI I don’t talk about my second book, STRICTLY BUSINESS, enough. It’s the book I had to delay when the burnout from my full-time job took me down. I ultimately released it for *me* more than anything, but it’s also the book I’ve gotten the most “l saw myself in______.”

There’s a line in it that Kate says that struck a lot of readers: “It’s tough to reconcile being both devastated that she’s gone and the sense of relief that comes with the removal of the stress she brought into my life.”

That reflection could have come straight from my personal journal. Little did I know, a lot of people feel that push-pull in grief. I’m proud something I wrote has helped a handful of folks.

STRICTLY BUSINESS isn’t about grief, though. It’s a workplace romance set in the country music world, with Nashville acting as a background character. I’d love for you to add it to your summer TBR. 🫶

Available on Amazon as an ebook and in paperback, and on Kindle Unlimited.

A while back, someone told me to try grounding in A while back, someone told me to try grounding in the mornings- go outside, put my bare feet in the grass, and drink a cup of lemon water while I take deep breaths and set my intention for the day. I got away from this practice while it was cold and winter, but I’ve been easing back into it this week. 10/10 recommend it.

Now to spend the weekend editing, writing, reading, and stitching.

And cheering on @vol_baseball of course. 🍊⚾️

The only way this practice could be better? If the grass was sand. 👀

I got to have an “Ideal Day” today. Started it I got to have an “Ideal Day” today. Started it with Pure Barre, came home to journal and read a bit of non-fiction, made breakfast rather than reheated whatever I prepped the night before, did some work for freelance clients, then went to a coffee shop where I got to edit POLITICAL CAPITAL and enjoy the sunshine.

More days like this. 🙏

Know what funny? (But not because Spirit *will* get your attention). Two friends who don’t know each other each told me I should go write at a coffee shop during my unexpected day off. What they didn’t know was that I planned to - because if I want this to be the norm, I felt I needed to actually experience it where I could as I work towards it. Their encouragement definitely felt like a little wink from the universe.

Now to read some romance before I watch @vol_baseball, start a new needlepoint project, and get some more editing done.

Thinking about book 3️⃣ in the POLITICAL GAIN Thinking about book 3️⃣ in the POLITICAL GAIN series while implementing line edits in book ✌️and mentally plotting book 4️⃣ while also writing a 🧙‍♀️ little draft of a brand new series.

And ya know, toying with revisiting the draft of a ⚾️ romance I wrote a while back in my free time.

Life of an author. 🤷‍♀️ Should have some POLITICAL CAPITAL news later this month!
