I spend 75% of my time in workout clothes. It’s a topic of discussion when I show up somewhere not wearing leggings and a tank top. Despite my preference for workout clothes, I still love to dress up. Enter, the tulle skirt.
I’ve been pinning tulle skirts for months. I bought a tulle skirt around this time last year at Target and wore it often, until it became too big to continue to wear. I’ve been on the hunt for another, but couldn’t quite find the right one. I’m short, so I didn’t want one too long as longer skirts/shorts make me look even shorter. I also didn’t want anything too poofy and that had a liner as tulle is scratchy. I kept coming up empty.
When eShakti offered me the chance to try their service, I stumbled across a tulle skirt (similar here and here) while browsing their collection of beautiful dresses, tops, and everything in between. eShakti customizes every order to ensure a perfect fit, so I took my measurements and requested the length I wanted. A couple of weeks later, my custom tulle skirt was on my doorstep.
A tulle skirt isn’t necessarily meant for day-to-day wear, but that didn’t stop me from playing with ways to dress it up or dress it down.
I happened to be wearing one of my favorite Piko t-shirts the day my tulle skirt arrived. I couldn’t wait to try the skirt on and so, I did, pairing it with my t-shirt. The look was fun and casual, something I would wear on a date or maybe even in the office.
Other ways to wear a tulle skirt?
How about with a plaid shirt?
I love this look for a holiday party where the vibe is casual, but you’re still looking to be a little more dressed up. Add a sparkly necklace and earrings and a great pair of heels, and you’ve got a great party outfit.
I also like the idea of pairing a tulle skirt with a chambray shirt. With the right accessories, this can be dressed up or down. When I laid this outfit on my bed, I kind of wanted to go take photos in an apple orchard. Because who doesn’t go traipsing about apple orchards in tulle skirts?
Another way to wear a tulle skirt? Pair it with a favorite sports team t-shirt! Give Her Six sells some of my favorite Tennessee-themed apparel. I’ve got this baseball tee that I think would look great with my tulle skirt. If Tennessee makes it to the SEC Championship game, maybe this will be my outfit to watch the game!
Who am I kidding? I’ll have to war my Feels Like ’98 tank. I’ve worn it every Saturday and so far, so good – even if we did lose to Texas A&M on Saturday (in double OT. If you have to go lose, lose to the No. 8 team in the country in double OT).
I plan to wear my tulle skirt often during the holidays. I’m on the lookout for a gold sequined top and the perfect black (or red!) heels. If you’ve seen either in your shopping excursions, send them my way!
My tulle skirt is my second piece from eShakti. I ordered a dress from them a few years ago that I loved. You can get $30 off your first eShakti order by clicking here. A few of my favorite pieces on the site right now are this Jasmine Dress and this Woven Dupion Sweetheart Dress, both perfect for all of those holiday parties we’ll be RSVP’ing to soon. This Cowl Neck Top would be perfect to put on over my tank top to run errands after a barre class and this sweater knit cape may come home with me sooner rather than later.
