How was your week?
Mine was jam-packed. UNC’s spring semester kicked off and the studio went from *crickets* to rocking. I’m loving having some of my original regulars back, as well as seeing so many new faces. There’s a great vibe in the studio right now and my instructors are getting to experience what it’s like to teach big classes – their texts post-class are incredible! Our new schedule starts on Monday, so I’m looking forward to that, too – I’m teaching less and more intentionally while working on launching Barre Bootcamp as well as developing something new… Stay tuned if you’re in Chape Hill!
And hey, we’re less than a month from my next weightlifting meet. How did that happen? Where did all the time go? Did I just start this current 8-week cycle? It certainly feels like it.
On a completely different note – tell me about your favorite skincare products? I’ve always had decent skin, but in the last few weeks, it’s decided to have a moment. My skin is very dry, especially my hands, feet, and lips, but my chin and nose, the infamous T-zone, is basically leaking oil. I’ve been using Neutrogena Hydro Boost and Dr. Thayer’s Witch Hazel and using a Clean & Clear scrub in the shower for ages, but it seems those products have walked out on the job.
I did pick up the Tula Discovery kit at Ulta on Sunday. And you know what? So far, I’m impressed. It’s too soon to say for sure, but I think it might be doing some magic on my skin. I’m not wearing a stitch of makeup today, and actually feel good about it. A friend is sending me some Beautycounter products to try as well. But by all means – keep the suggestions coming!
Ready for this week’s free workout? This one is lower body and conditioning focused and can be done with a barbell or dumbbells. For the monster walks, you’ll need a resistance band!
As always, use a weight you can move confidently and get all reps, but that makes you work for the last 2-3 reps.
Let me know if you give this one a try! I love hearing from you all when you do one of my workouts!
