Oh, hey there, Friday.
This was a long week. I think it had something to do with how last week was Thanksgiving and I was only in the office two days. This is my last full week in the office for the year and that little nugget of knowledge made it a long LONG week.
Nonetheless, it’s Friday now and that’s reason to celebrate with Friday Favorites.
Mistletoe Market
If you’re in the Charlottesville area, check out Mistletoe Market on Sunday at John Paul Jones Arena! This is one of the Junior League of Charlottesville’s annual fundraisers and it’s a great chance to pick up some unique Christmas gifts. Visit the Facebook event for an idea of some of the vendors who will be on hand!
Italy
I leave for Italy a week from today. My company put together an 8 day trip for a price that couldn’t be beat. We’re flying overnight to Venice, then will traipse along to Florence and Rome over the course of the week. I wasn’t planning to head overseas a third time this year (!!!), but when the total price of the trip is roughly the same cost as a plane ticket to Venice and includes everything except lunch and alcohol, you go. I’m calling this the “carb load before the holidays” trip. There will be plenty of photos on Instagram, don’t you worry.
And gelato. There will definitely be gelato.
Sweater Weather
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Target got me. I popped in on Black Friday “to get a microwave” and left with – a lot of things. One of those things was an amazing polar bear sweater that is so comfy and cozy. I’m wearing it today with leggings and it’s the absolute perfect Friday-in-December outfit. I may just wear it next Friday, too. It’s a long flight to Italy, may as well be comfortable. Don’t worry – I’ve taken the tag off and done my hair since snapping this photo.
I don’t see the sweater online, but you can find similar sweaters here!

Pottery Barn Kids Rudolph Plates, Platters, and Cups
Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest Rudolph-themed plates, platters, and cups this season. I couldn’t stop myself from snagging all four Rudolph plates and the above Rudolph platter while I was in Short Pump over the weekend. Today, they’re 50% off online, but selling out fast. I made a move to snag the matching cups, but they’re down to just Bumble! I’m going to tuck these away for future little ones. Except that platter. I’m going to use that platter this year.
Cookie Exchanges
One of my favorite Christmas “things” are cookie exchanges. I love baking, especially baking cookies. I always end up participating in two or three cookie exchanges in December and I have my first one on Monday. I’m thinking… sugar cookies dipped in white chocolate and/or dark chocolate, then rolled in peppermint. We’ll see where Pinterest leads me.
What are some of your favorite things this Friday?
OMG I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOUR ITALY TRIP!!! Can I please come? I have got to get your company to hire me! I love Italy. I went in high school to Rome and Florence (along with London and Paris), and it was amazing. I am dying to spend more time there. Take like a million pictures so I can live vicariously through you. And I am jealous that last week was your last full week at work. Also, I love that sweater!
