Accountability: June Goals

This morning, I journaled on my June goals. It’s not something I’ve done before. I might journal my goals for the week, more often my goals for the day, but never for the month ahead. As someone who loves a good goal – and achieving said goal even more – I don’t know why I’ve never done this before. But as the calendar turns, I felt guided to journal my June goals which led me to feeling like it might be fun to share them here as well in a Monthly Goals segment. I’m a big believer in accountability (hi, I’m a coach), and when I put something out to the masses, accountability is there.

Through this practice, I also want to look back on the previous month and see what worked, what didn’t, what I could do better, and where I can celebrate. I recently started tracking metrics for my business – a day late and a dollar short on that one… – and this feels like the logical next step. We don’t grow without self-reflection, and growth is necessary if we’re going to live a bold life. Look for that post at the end of the month.

And so, my June goals:

  • Post two blog posts per week
  • Post something to Instagram each day
  • Read two books
  • Have (super top secret project!!!) 80% complete
  • Finish revisions of a pilot script
  • Complete 1,000 words of summer (write 1,000 words each day for two weeks, 5/31-6/13)
  • Try something new in Los Angeles

Yes, I’m being a tease with that whole “super top secret project” bit, but I’ll share soon enough – there’s even a hint in this blog post…

The Enneagram 3 in me looks at this list and thinks “that’s not much.” But it’s actually pretty ambitious – there is a LOT of content being created in the coming weeks. I’m working on not associating my worth with how many things I check off my to-do list. I’m also working on being a better steward of my time. I can lose a lot of hours in a day doing silly things like scrolling Instagram or googling insert random topic here which leads me to panic and rush through my tasks without giving them the focus they deserve. I’m focusing on block scheduling and batching content where I can to improve. Baby steps.

Those are my June goals – a lot of writing, a bit of reading, and some adventure.

What are your June goals and how can I support you in achieving them?
