73 Questions - Vogue Rapid Fire

I did one of these Vogue 73 Questions bits a while back and it has been incredibly popular as of late. I still love the series and thought it would be fun to do a Take 2 with (mostly) fresh new questions. You can read my first 73 questions here.

  1. Where would you go on a road trip? Confession: I don’t love road trips. I’d much rather fly somewhere. But I do think I’d like to do a cross-country road trip…
  2. What’s your biggest weakness? Procrastination. But I do my best work when I’m under pressure. 
  3. What’s your biggest strength? Optimism. I do my best to look at the situation from the glass half full angle. 2020 has really tested that ability. 
  4. What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had? Moving to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee without knowing a soul. 
  5. What’s your idea of a perfect date? Something active – a hike, a class, something where you’re doing something while getting to know one another; or a picnic on the beach.
  6. Favorite movie? Steel Magnolias. You can learn everything you need to know about life from that movie.
  7. What is a cause that is important to you? Child hunger and literacy. 
  8. What’s the best compliment you have ever received? That I’m authentic.
  9. When are you most inspired? Early in the morning and late at night.
  10. Sweet or savory? Savory by a nose.
  11. What is your biggest fear in life? Failure, not having the chance to fulfill my goals, hopes, and dreams. 
  12. What makes you smile the most? Puppies and babies.
  13. What’s your favorite app? Instagram and SugarWOD
  14. Heels, flats, or sneakers? Booties.
  15. Vintage or new? New with a few vintage pieces (clothes, furniture) sprinkled in.
  16. What are three things you can’t live without? Since family/friends/my dog are a given – coffee, writing, books.
  17. Window or aisle seat? Aisle on long flights, window on shorter ones.
  18. What’s one thing you had to learn the hard way? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is; if your gut says ‘don’t do it,’ DON’T.
  19. Leather or lace? Lace. With leather accents.
  20. What is the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life? Surf camp in Nicaragua.
  21. How would you define yourself in three words? Empathetic, goal-oriented, optimistic.
  22. What’s your current favorite piece of clothing you own? A tulle skirt from Banana Republic.
  23. What’s a must-have clothing item that everyone should own? The perfect pair of classic black high heels.
  24. What’s inspiring you in life right now? All the voices for change and planning for 2021. I’m not one to rush things, but 2021? It’s gonna be a good one.
  25. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? You can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped.
  26. What’s your pet peeve? Slow drivers in the left lane, slow checkout lines, carts left in the middle of the parking lot.
  27. Diamond or pearls? Diamonds.
  28. Winter or Summer? Summer. Efff being cold.
  29. Most recent dream you can remember? There were all of ‘sandlot’ looking kids outside of my apartment trying to get in/lure me out at the command of a tough looking woman in a leather jacket. I think it was my anxieties trying to get to me as I work to move through them in my waking life.
  30. What’s heavily played on your playlist right now? Taylor Swift’s folklore. Specifically, ‘the last great american dynasty’ and ‘exile.’ (It pains me to lowercase those, but it’s how she does it…)
  31. What’s your favorite board game? Bananagrams. I will end you at Bananagrams.
  32. Stairs or elevator? Stairs.
  33. What book did you most recently finish? Trust No One by Debra Webb (3 out of 5 stars – a little slow to get rolling.
  34. What are you currently reading? One To Watch by Kate Stayman-London and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
  35. How do you start your day? Read my devotional, journal, pray, and pull an oracle card for the day.
  36. What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the First Day of Football Season.
  37. If you could raid one woman’s closet whose would it be? Kelsea Ballerini’s.
  38. If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be? Queen Elizabeth.
  39. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to try, but you’ve been too scared to do it? Go on a solo overnight camping trip. I’m not an outdoorsy kind of gal.
  40. What’s the one thing you wish you knew at age 19? There’s an entire world at your fingertips and if you want it, it’s okay to go get it. Also? You’re not going to marry that boy and you’ll be very happy about that.
  41. Besides your phone and wallet, what’s a couple of must-have items in your purse? Neutrogena tinted chapstick, a notebook, and a pen.
  42. What is an alternate career you would be doing? Television showrunner/creator.
  43. What’s something you can’t do? Drive a stick. My daddy says it’s impossible to teach me. He’s tried. And he thinks I can do ANYTHING.
  44. Where was the best vacation you’ve ever taken? Gotta say Nicaragua again but Iceland was a close second. 
  45. What’s one city you have always dreamed of traveling to? Just one? Romania.
  46. What’s something you always travel with? A book and a power bank.
  47. Favorite food? Thai feels like the right answer as of now.
  48. Favorite dessert? Grandma’s strawberry shortcake; Or a milkshake from Brown Dog Ice Cream in Cape Charles, VA.
  49. Hugs or Kisses? Hugs.
  50. What’s a movie that made you cry? Steel Magnolias.
  51. Girl crush? Maren Morris.
  52. What’s one talent you wish you had? Singing.
  53. What’s your favorite exercise? Strength training.
  54. Jogging or swimming? Jogging. Who am I? 
  55. What’s your favorite fast food order? Chick-Fil-A. Anything on the menu, but a grilled chicken club with pepperjack cheese, no tomato, no lettuce, and a side of waffle fries really hits the spot.
  56. What’s something you don’t want to be doing in 10 years? Wishing I’d done the things I’ve been hesitating to do.
  57. Favorite James Bond? Never seen a single one…
  58. Favorite superhero? Not a big superhero girl, but have you seen Chace Crawford as ‘The Deep’ in The Boys? He’s not a good guy, but he’s fun to look at.
  59. What’s your favorite cocktail? An Old Fashioned.
  60. If you could master one instrument, what would it be? The piano, like my grandma. 
  61. What is one thing you do want to be doing in 10 years? The things I dream of today.
  62. Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you have as a dinner guest? Dolly Parton.
  63. Would you like to be famous? In what way? Yes. Not ‘every move is documented’ famous but ‘I know her and the work she’s done’ famous. Give me a red carpet and an Emmy, please.
  64. What’s your favorite thing in the world? Being by the ocean. The water and the sound ground me in a way I can’t explain.
  65. What’s your favorite color? Blue, pink, green.
  66. Secret talent? I played the alto sax for several years. It would take me a minute, but I’m sure it would come back to me if I got one in my hands again. 
  67. What is one hobby you will never give up? Writing, reading, baking.
  68. What’s the biggest surprise you’ve ever had? My 30th birthday party at a vineyard.
  69. What is one trend you would never try? Vaping. Y’all have at it.
  70. Who do you turn to when you are sad? My dad and my closest friends.
  71. What’s a trend you would like to see disappear forever? Cancel culture.
  72. Last country visited? Iceland. It’s been too long… Put me on a plane, please.
  73. What’s your current TV obsession? I just finished Cursed on Netflix and Normal People on Hulu. Highly recommend both. And Selling Sunset on Netflix for good mindless fun.
