Everyone I know has posted about the three fictional characters that describe them. I’m impressed by how quickly they were able to settle on three. I deliberated on it longer than the O.J. Simpson jury deliberated on his case. Granted, they deliberated less than four hours before finding him not guilty, but given that we’re not deciding someone’s fate or performing neurosurgery, I still thought about this too long.
I’ve fallen in love with a number of fictional characters over the years, both on the screen and in books. Chuck Bass was my crush throughout college and I wore headbands a la Blair Waldorf nearly every day for at least a semester. I spent years wanting to be Rachel Green, but have since accepted the fact that in actuality, I’m Monica Gellar. Same with Carrie Bradshaw. I’m much more of a Charlotte York Goldenblatt. I love Gone With The Wind, but I’m too decent to be Scarlett, too independent to be Melanie.
I considered Leigh Anne Tuohy for a half of a minute, but she’s not fictional, is she? Rory Gilmore was a viable option with her whole bookworm and journalist thing. I ran through the whole catalog of Disney characters, debating.
Ultimately, I settled on three fictional characters to describe me – including two Disney characters: Cinderella, Belle, and Tami Taylor.
Cinderella looks for the good in every situation and believes in being kind, always. She continues to dream and believe in love despite her circumstances. I try to be like Cinderella in that way – finding the good, being kind, dreaming and believing in love, always. I also have a bit of a love of shoes, and wouldn’t hate an excuse to wear her blue ballgown.
I didn’t want to choose two Disney characters, but Belle, along with Cinderella, had to make the cut. Like Belle, I love books and adventure. She represents my love of literature and travel. After all, I always buy at least one book from every country I visit!
While it took me a while to choose all three fictional characters, I chose one immediately – Tami Taylor. Her love of and devotion to her family, friends, and students, southern sass, and unparalleled knowledge of football resonates with me. Like Tami, I make an incredible armchair quarterback.
I think I’ll go re-watch Friday Night Lights, now.
Have you chosen three fictional characters yet? Who are they?
