I opened my lingerie drawer a couple of months ago and thought UGH.
My sports bra collection is on point. My Lululemon bras are worth every penny I’ve spent on them. But my day-to-day bras? They left a lot to be desired. And if we’re being honest, my panties collection wasn’t exactly doing it for me, either. Everything was just so plain. Lots of cotton and solid colors, maybe some underwire, maybe not… Not to mention, pretty much the whole drawer was ill-fitting.
I decided it was time to overhaul my lingerie drawer.
I started at the obvious place: Victoria’s Secret.
Ready for a confession?
I have never liked Victoria’s Secret.
Their stores make me feel awkward. There’s so much pink and perfume – and I love pink and perfume. Rooting through bins of underwear feels weird, and my size, be it panties or bras, always seems to be sold out in the colors and patterns I like. And since I’m being honest, the quality hasn’t exactly impressed me, given the price tags.
Still, the girls at the Charlottesville store are sweet, so I let them fit me and then I went in search of new bras. I left empty handed. See the comment about sold out colors and patterns. I’ll try to find them online, I told myself.
Later that night, I pulled up Victoria’s Secret on my laptop and started browsing, but everything was just… meh. I started browsing other lingerie sites, and came across Lively. I remembered that a couple of my friends spoke highly of Lively so I figured why not give it a try?
And now I’m obsessed.
The Palm Lace Bralette and the Long Lined Lace Bralette are winners. They are also the only ones I’ve purchased to date, but I have a feeling I’m going to like everything I purchase from Lively. They fit well, are flattering, so feminine, and the quality is great. Plus, I’m loving the price tag. $35 for one, and then mix and match deals. Two bras for $55? Excellent. My next purchase is going to be from their undies line.
Lively also just launched a really REALLY cute swimwear line in partnership with Ban.do. I think the Tank One Piece, The Bralette, or the High-Neck Halter would be perfect additions to my swimsuit lineup for our return trip to surf camp in Nicaragua in June. Plus, again, that price tag.
Someone take my debit card and remind me that I’m in the middle of moving states and the last thing I need to do is buy something else – even a pair of underwear – that needs to be packed into a Uhaul next weekend.
Beyond their product, I’m also a champion of Lively’s belief in women. Their brand is just as much about female empowerment as it is looking and feeling good in your lingerie. It only takes a few clicks around the Lively website to get a sense of their mission. I loved it so much I signed up for – and was accepted into – their ambassador program.

I’m not sponsored by Lively. I wasn’t even asked to write this post as part of being an ambassador. I just believe in sharing what I like, and I’m currently loving Lively, a brand that represents beliefs I stand for and makes me feel good while wearing it. Whether we’re sitting in a cubicle or walking a runway, shouldn’t we all like what we’re wearing, and how it makes us feel?
But seriously… I think I need at least one of those swimsuits for Nica….
And perhaps Lively would like to do a pop up event in my new town of Chapel Hill? A girl can dream!
Have you tried Lively yet? What do you think? (And if you haven’t…. What are you waiting for?!)
