I’m bringing back my ‘Health & Fitness Links I Love’ series for 2018!
I make it a priority to read several health and fitness articles and studies each week to further my education and equip myself with knowledge to better aid my students and clients. It’s so important to make sure you aren’t just spewing a bunch of nonsense to people who are entrusting part of their well-being to you, and unfortunately, the health and fitness market is full of “those” people.
Each Friday, I’m going to share the Health & Fitness Links I Love from the week – they could be anything from workout advice to nutrition to mindfulness. Whatever I read that I felt had value and my readers may enjoy.

8 Things Every Person Should Do Before 8 A.M – I was pleasantly surprised that I do almost all of these things each and every morning. You can forget about that cold shower nonsense though. Only in Nicaragua will that be a thing I do.
19 Things That Will Make Your Workouts So Much More Effective in 2018 – Articles like this can be full of fluff, but this one is full of good advice. I especially like the advice on strength training and foam rolling, something you will be hearing a lot about around here.
8 Things That Slow Down Your Metabolism – I’ve been reading A LOT on metabolism repair. I damaged mine by dieting too much and chronicling under eating. This piece from ACE has some great information on how you could be damaging your metabolism and not know it.
How To Become An ACE Pro on the Side – I have my personal training and nutrition certifications through ACE, and the organization is an absolute wealth of knowledge. If you’re interested in becoming a personal trainer or health coach, check out this article.
The Sleep Apps You Need – I don’t sleep enough. 4-5 hours a night, and that’s it. I don’t have trouble falling asleep. I have trouble saying “okay, it’s bedtime” when I could be writing or reading or whatever I’m doing at 11:00pm. I downloaded the Sleep Cycle app recommended in this article and so far, I’m a fan!
20 Whole30 Recipes To Meal Prep This Week – I’m doing what I’m calling a “Modified Whole30” – modified in the fact that I’m boarding a plane to Iceland on the 17th and I’m certainly not going to miss out on some of the pastries I’ve seen Instagrammed – but in the meantime, I’m eating Whole30 style, and there are some great recipes here.
What Does Clean Eating Even Mean? – “Clean Eating” is such a buzz phrase, but what does it even mean? This piece breaks it down nicely.
